ECE R10 sets limits on two things:

• Emissions: Your product must not emit electromagnetic interference that disrupts other vehicle systems (radio, GPS, safety controls).

• Immunity: Your product must continue functioning correctly when exposed to external electromagnetic fields .

What Is CISPR 25?

CISPR 25 is an international test standard published by the IEC. Its full title is “Vehicles, boats and internal combustion engines — Radio disturbance characteristics — Limits and methods of measurement for the protection of on-board receivers” .

• How to test a component for electromagnetic emissions

• What frequency ranges to test (150 kHz to 2500 MHz)

CISPR 25 has five limit classes, from Class 1 (most lenient) to Class 5 (strictest) . The required class is determined by the vehicle manufacturer based on the component’s mounting position and proximity to sensitive receivers like GPS or radio antennas .
